Yaren Lisinski and Sara Lynn Milgram remained eternal companions in death. They were supposed to become life partners a few days later. The wedding ring was also purchased. But they were no longer to become life partners in the terrorist shooting.

 

These two employees of the Israeli embassy were killed in a shooting near a Jewish museum in the US capital, Washington, DC.

 

US President Donald Trump has condemned the brutal murder. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed anger. The country's Foreign Minister Gideon Sar's murderers have demanded exemplary punishment. Israelis are stunned in mourning. The Israeli national flag has been flown at half-mast.

 

Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter told a news conference that the two victims were a young couple who were about to get married.

 

US police have arrested a man named Elias Rodriguez, a resident of Chicago, as a suspect in the incident. He was shouting "Free Palestine, Free Palestine" when he was arrested by police.

 

US Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem said that they were shot at close range as they left an event at the Capitol Jewish Museum at around 9:05 pm. Christy Noem promised to "bring this brutal criminal to justice".

 

US President Donald Trump also described the murder as a clear act of anti-Semitism. He firmly said that hate and extremism have no place in the United States. It must stop.

 

"The killers will not be spared under any circumstances," Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sar'ar said at a news conference. "We have full confidence in the US local and federal law enforcement authorities to bring the attacker to justice and to protect Israeli representatives and the Jewish community across the United States."

 

During a press conference, Washington police identified Elias Rodriguez as the sole suspect in the attack.

 

Police said the 30-year-old Chicago man was seen "walking around" outside the museum before the incident. He approached a group of four people, pulled out a handgun and shot two victims. Rodriguez is currently in police custody.

 

Heads of state from around the world have condemned the killings.
